So which path are you going to walk?

Asalaamualaykum warahmatullah

An excellent lecture by our brother Mutah (a.k.a ex-Napolean from the “Outlawz” an American rap group), given in Jeddah (with Arabic translation)

It is a simple yet great reminder for us all, that we have a huge blessing in our hands, that being the blessing of Islaam – Alhamdulilllah Allah has individually picked us out of the billions on this earth and has guided us to be a Muslim. Br Mutah explains that we must never forget that our true success in this life and next lies only in obeying Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (s)…there is no other way to follow other than this noble path, the way of the Quran and Sunnah. So which path are you walking?

Br Mutah narrated the words of Umar ibn Khattab (ra) who said after the conquest of Jerusalem, to the Muslims – “You were a despised people in the world. It is Islam that has given you dignity, prestige and unity. Remember whenever you would think of acquiring honour in the name of anything other than Islam, Allah will bring disgrace and shame on you. “

So strive hard O Muslim, and never give up.. through all the tests and trials of this world, know that if you keep your duty to Allah – He promises to help you in ways you could not even imagine.. know that this life is just a quick passing enjoinment, and our temporary abode, we are just travellers passing through…if you chose to follow the path of Islam – you will face many hard tests without a doubt – but what is our destination? Jannah!

Our rest is not in the life of this world but rather our ultimate rest will be once we put our first step into Jannah (and it is for eternity!).

So protect your emaan (faith) and work on increasing it – for verily it is pricess that no money can buy. With it you are a winner and without it you will always be lost. Know that if you have Allah on your side you have nothing to worry about, but if you do not have Allah on your side, then what hope do you have?

May Allah guide us to live a righteous life, and make us from Ahlul (the people of ) Jannah, ameen.
