Ramadhan is just afew hours away!
May Allah grant us Taqwa & Accept our Worship, our Duaa, our Repentance this Ramadhan & let it become a Foundation for the rest of the upcoming year – may Allah forgive us, have mercy on us and make this Ramadhan a means for us to become from the people of Jannah. Allahumma Ameen
Since the moon of Ramadhaan was not sighted yesterday evening, we are to complete thirty (30) days of Sha’baan today, in accordance with the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) – and start fasting tomorrow on Saturday 22nd August 2009:
“Fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you, then complete thirty days of Sha’baan. And break your fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you then fast thirty days” – Hadith Sahih al-Bukhaaree and Muslim
Subsequently, Taraweeh prayers will start today (Friday 21 August 2009) after the ‘Ishaa prayer – at all participating Masaajid. Check with your local Masjid for details.
Inshaa Allah the first fast of Ramadhaan is tomorrow on Saturday 22nd August 2009.
Allahu Akbar it seems we have all started Ramadan together! Let us pray we can finish it together and celebrate Eid together! Ameen.
